Job description

For our client we are looking for a Practice Accountant in Balbriggan, North Dublin! This exciting opportunity arises from our continuous expansion efforts.About the Role:
As a Practice Accountant, you’ll manage your own client portfolio while overseeing team tasks. This role offers excellent prospects for career advancement and involvement in the firm’s growth trajectory over the coming years. It’s a hybrid or office-based role, with flexibility depending on your needs. Ideally, you should reside reasonably close to Balbriggan.

About You:
You should be a member of an accountancy body like ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or ACA, with proven experience in client and team management. Your expertise should span sole trader and limited company compliance, encompassing areas such as management reporting, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll (a plus), income tax, and corporation tax.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in client onboarding.
  • Provide support to team members, delegating tasks, and ensuring quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date procedure templates.
  • Act as the primary contact for your clients.
  • Handle preparation and filing of corporation tax and income tax returns.
  • Undertake company secretarial work, including preparing and filing necessary documents.
  • Manage RBO filings.
  • Engage in budgeting and forecasting for clients.
  • Prepare year-end accounts and financial statements for various entities.
  • Identify opportunities to offer strategic advice to clients, with support and guidance from senior staff.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts by creating content on relevant topics.
  • Utilize tools like Loom for creating instructional videos.
  • Share knowledge with team members.

Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of accounting practice experience in Ireland.
  • Experience with Xero cloud accounting is advantageous.
  • Strong technical proficiency in accounting, income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and payroll is preferred.
