Role Overview:

Our client, a leading retail seller of equipment based in West Dublin, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations. This pivotal role involves comprehensive management of the finance function, requiring a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of financial management within an SME environment and will report directly to the COO, contributing to the company’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Manage all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting,
and financial planning.
• Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports to
the management team.
• Policy Development: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and
internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable,
and general ledger activities.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and
opportunities for cost reduction and e iciency improvements.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure the timely
completion of audits.
• Strategic Support: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic
decision-making.
• Investment and Risk Management: Monitor and manage company investments and
financial risks.

Skills & Experience:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a
related field.
• Professional Qualification: ACCA, ACA, or a similar qualification is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE), with experience in
an SME environment preferred.
• Process Development: Demonstrated experience in building financial procedures and
processes within a business is desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting,
and regulatory requirements.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in financial software and the Microsoft O ice Suite,
particularly Excel.
