Our client, a leading hospitality organisation, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Accountant to join their city centre-based hotel on a full-time basis. Our client is recognised for delivering authentic hospitality experiences that cater to a diverse audience. As a forward-thinking and dynamic company, they manage an extensive portfolio of high-quality hotels that consistently exceed customer expectations.

Due to sustained growth, our client is looking to expand their team with an experienced Hotel Accountant who will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations.

The Role:

Take full responsibility for the daily financial operations of the hotel. Collaborate closely with the General Manager and team members to achieve timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining the highest standards of integrity.

Reports to: General Manager / Group Financial Controller

Responsibilities:

  • Generate accurate reports, including revenue forecasting, cost analysis, profitability assessments, P&L accounts, budget packs, and periodic Balance Sheets.
  • Monitor billing accuracy and implement efficient control systems for forecasting and controlling expenditures, including payroll and gross margins.
  • Report and reconcile daily revenue, preparing management information from the PMS.
  • Process purchase orders and invoices, ensuring correct coding to nominal codes, in adherence to the company’s financial policy.
  • Oversee payroll processing, BACS payments, and monthly PAYE reconciliation, reporting payroll costs by department.
  • Implement credit control measures in line with company policy.
  • Ensure accurate capture of revenue and proper reporting of costs in the nominal ledger.
  • Prepare Prepayment and Accrual Journals and maintain schedules.
  • Weekly reconciliation of Cash and bank accounts.
  • Prepare periodic presentations at owner’s meetings.
  • Coordinate and support property operating policies and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate all financial audits.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5-10 years PQE.
  • Confident, articulate, and communicative with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong process orientation with a positive approach to change.
  • Ability to coach team members as the team grows.
  • Organized, systematic, and deadline-driven.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Excel, computer literate with experience in multiple systems – Sage
  • Line 50 experience is advantageous.
  • Experience working within an entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
