Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Investment Valuation Manager to join our client’s rapidly growing Valuation & Portfolio Monitoring team based in Warsaw. As a core member of this team, you will play a crucial role in the evaluation and assessment of various asset portfolios. This position offers valuable experience in private markets and structured investment transactions across multiple products and capital structures.

Role Summary

In this role, you will be part of a core valuations team that collaborates between London and Warsaw, overseeing the valuation process for individual deals. You will work closely with deal executives to review portfolio information and models, challenge valuation assessments constructively, ensure accuracy and fairness, and manage the audit process to ensure a robust and efficient outcome.

With a detail-oriented and hands-on approach, you will manage the valuation process across multiple products and support the quarterly portfolio monitoring process through various systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a collaborative mindset, are essential as you will interact with colleagues across deal teams, senior management, finance, funds operations, and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Valuation and Quarterly Portfolio Review (QPR):
    • Review and challenge valuation assessments and techniques to ensure consistency and compliance with valuation policies and quality standards.
    • Drive best practices through the QPR process.
    • Plan and manage the QPR process and timeline, coordinating with stakeholders including deal executives and finance teams.
    • Assist in managing audit procedures related to valuation, addressing auditors’ questions and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Process and System Improvement:
    • Stay updated on technical developments in valuation guidance and practices.
    • Contribute to transformation projects aimed at improving systems and processes for portfolio monitoring and valuation.
  • Portfolio Monitoring and Deal Support:
    • Oversee the information gathering, updating, and monitoring of relevant metrics for deals.
    • Perform analyses to derive insights from portfolio data.

Skills & Experience:

  • Accounting qualification with at least five years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical valuation skills, including knowledge of income and market approaches (CCA and CTA).
  • Experience with private equity, debt investments, and real assets.
  • Solid accounting/audit experience with a good commercial sense.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling (e.g., discounted cash flow); experience with research databases such as Capital IQ.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Data analytical skills, including experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, or Power BI, are a plus.
