ROLE SUMMARY: 

As a Tax Associate, you will play a pivotal role in the Tax team overseeing compliance for a diverse portfolio, including 30+ funds, 75+ private equity and management companies, high net worth individuals, and tax-exempt organizations. Collaborating with leading accounting firms, you’ll contribute to the preparation and review of various tax workpapers, partnership allocations, and tax estimates. The role involves a dynamic blend of responsibilities, from utilizing Microsoft Excel for data management to actively participating in the enhancement and maintenance of proprietary tax technology tools. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

In this role, you will: 

  • Prepare and perform initial reviews of various tax workpapers, partnership allocations, and tax estimates, primarily in private equity and venture capital. 
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel daily with a focus on data management. 
  • Collaborate with the Tax Technology team in designing, improving, and maintaining proprietary software and automation tools. 
  • Design and maintain automation workflows using technologies such as VBA, Alteryx, SQL, and Tableau. 
  • Operate proprietary internal software to generate Schedules K-1 and tax return templates for external tax advisors. 
  • Assist with audits conducted by federal and state tax authorities. 
  • Address ad-hoc queries from other departments regarding the tax implications of prospective transactions and investor tax reporting. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

To succeed in this role, you should possess: 

  • A minimum of four years of work experience in accounting or taxation. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with strong accounting skills. 
  • Extensive computer and technology experience, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills, VBA knowledge a plus. 
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, SQL, and Tableau. 
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Analytical mindset, strong work ethic, and a commitment to ethical standards. 
  • Interest in working with technology and automation.
