Tax team oversees tax compliance for 30+ funds, 75+ private equity and management companies, high net worth individuals, and tax-exempt organizations.

The Tax team coordinates with Big Four accounting firms to prepare and review partnership, corporate, individual, international, and state returns.

We are constantly improving our processes with the help of the firm’s dedicated Tax Technology team. Learning opportunities are virtually unlimited as we manage a complex tax structure across multiple businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and perform initial reviews of various tax workpapers, partnership allocations, and tax estimates primarily in the private equity and venture capital business line to assist with the tax compliance process as needed
  • Use Microsoft Excel daily with a focus on data management
  • Assist in the design, improvement, and maintenance of the Tax team’s proprietary software and automation tools by collaborating with the Tax Technology team, creating spec documents, and performing user acceptance testing (UAT) on new features
  • Design and maintain automation workflows using technologies such as VBA, Alteryx, SQL and Tableau.
  • Operate proprietary internal software to generate Schedules K-1 and tax return templates to be used by external tax advisors to prepare tax returns
  • Assist with audits conducted by federal and state tax authorities
  • Address ad-hoc queries from other departments, including (but not limited to) questions around the tax implications of prospective transactions and investor tax reporting

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of work experience in the field of accounting or taxation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; strong accounting skills
  • Extensive Computer and Technology experience and skills including:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a strong understanding of Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and logical operators; VBA knowledge a plus
  •  Ability and capacity to quickly learn and understand new software
  •  Knowledge of Alteryx, SQL, Tableau
  • Excellent English language skills, including the ability to read, write and speak clearly to effectively convey conclusions and to ask relevant questions in clear language while working with other team members to perform daily work
  • Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage shifting priorities, with a focus on clearly and frequently communicating with superiors
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • A highly analytical mindset and a strong work ethic
  • Self-starter with impeccable attention to detail
  • Interest in working with technology and automation
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in learning about all aspects of tax compliance and operations
